The past few months have been incredibly busy for The Babes! Read on to see what they’ve been up to!
Sarah at her first interview in NYC!
Sarah: Life has been crazy since graduation in May! I began working as a wedding consultant at David’s Bridal right after school was over. That was a fun and interesting job! Plus, I got to try on lots of pretty dresses. 🙂 The whole time I was working there though, I was constantly applying for fashion design jobs in New York. I had decided towards the end of the school year that I wanted to move to New York City with a couple of my best friends from school! Finally, in June I got an interview for an assistant designer position at a swimwear company in New York! The following week I came to the city to interview for the position and less than a week after that I had accepted it! I had very little time to get myself to NYC more permanently so I ended up staying with a family friend in New Jersey for several weeks. In July my two roommates, Shannon & Derek, and I moved into our new apartment in the Bronx! It’s huge and beautiful and I can’t wait to share it with you! Now, I’m finally getting settled into my new life in NYC and I couldn’t be happier! 🙂
Emily at the X-Ambassadors Concert!
Emily: My summer has turned out completely different then I thought it would but it’s been amazing! I started shooting for the Suicide Girls which is basically my dream job, and I’ve met some amazing people through it so far! I also recently started working as a jewelry apprentice at a major jewelry store’s repair shop. Throughout school I focused on trying to get a full time job working as an entry level fashion photographer or assistant in a larger studio but I decided to take this amazing job that gives me time and money to focus on my personal photography business on the side, while still doing something I love. I feel so welcomed by everyone I work with and I’m happy to be a part of such a fantastic team. I’ve been busy with a lot of other fun things this summer! I’ve been to a few concerts and have seen some of my favorite bands: X-Ambassadors, Matt & Kim, Glass Animals, and Bear Hands were all so amazing to see live! The next year is going to be insane with my goal of moving to the pacific northwest by next fall! Right now I’m embracing change and I’m so excited for whats to come!
Hello! It’s Emily! Last weekend I took a trip with my family to Delaware for my Mimi’s 90th birthday party! Almost my entire family was present, there was about 45 of us I think! While we were there, we had to visit Ocean City, Maryland. I used to spend a lot of time there growing up since a lot of my family used to live in the area. We visited every summer and I hadn’t been back since I was 15!
So, we stopped there on our way to Delaware and went to an amazing restaurant on the water called Fager’s Island. I had a delicious burger and hard cider.

It was the first time I had ever been to Ocean City in the winter so it was really weird seeing snow on the half-closed board walk. On Saturday my cousins and I, along with my dad and uncle, went down again and went to Dumser’s for lunch and then went to the Boardwalk! We spent some time getting taffy and playing in the arcade because we didn’t want to spend a lot of time walking around. It was sunny and the water was beautiful but the scenery didn’t cover the fact that it was still in the 30’s outside.
I was so full from lunch that I wasn’t able to get amazing Thrasher’s french fries drenched in vinegar.
It was so lovely being able to spend time with all my family again. There are so many of us so it isn’t often that we all get to be together. I also was able to hang out with my sister, Mary who’s 4 years older than me and lives in Texas so I don’t get to see her often.

She helped me take some photos of our outfits to share here!

Mary’s a store manager at Altar’d State so most of her outfit is from there! But her bag is Marc Jacobs and her boots are Steve Madden.
I missed my family and Ocean City so much. It will probably be a very long time before I go back to the city but I can’t wait till the next time my whole family is in a room together again. I’ll be posting photos of my trip on our instagram for the next week! Follow us @badbeautybabes
These babes had the opportunity to visit Pittsburgh for the day and we had an amazing time! The drive from Columbus was just over three hours and we arrived around 10am. We spent the whole day exploring the city with a great friend of ours who was kind enough to give us the grand tour. Pittsburgh is truly a beautiful and inspiring place!
Emily: I’ve never been to Pittsburgh before so it was quite the experience! Driving into the city was gorgeous. Sarah told me before we left that entering the city was really cool because you approach a huge hill and go through a tunnel. You get to the other side and it opens up with this huge, tall city that appears right before your eyes. The city is set up like Cincinnati – a city that I’ve visited many times, but it was so much bigger. The Andy Warhol museum was one of my favorite parts of the trip. I’ve seen a few of his pieces in person but it was amazing seeing some of his work that I’ve only ever seen in my art history text-book. I had no idea how large-scale some of them were! The perfect end to our night was seeing the stunning view of the Pittsburgh skyline and then enjoying a beer and great food from Primanti Brothers with two of my best friends.
Sarah: I had been to Pittsburgh once before while assisting with a Victoria’s Secret store remodel, but this time was much more enjoyable. It was nice to actually be able to explore the city and see what it had to offer. We began our day by eating at Pamela’s. They have, hands down, the best breakfast food I have ever tasted! President Obama must agree because he frequently flies these Pittsburgh chefs to the white house to prepare his own breakfast. How awesome is that?? After breakfast we visited The Andy Warhol Museum. As a pop art lover, it was awesome for me to see some of Warhol’s early work, as well as, some of his most famous pieces. We also had the opportunity to visit the Carnegie Science Center which had an incredible animated, miniature model of the city. I love miniatures so I was really excited about that! After nightfall, we drove up to Washington Point to get a view of the city lights. What a magical way to end an excellent day! I can’t wait to visit Pittsburgh again in the future!
