The Babes have been super busy with graduation and other exciting things! They’re back to their regular posting schedule now, but you can read about what they’ve been up to below!
Emily: The past few weeks have been insane. The last week of school I was very busy getting all of my projects done. I had my final class with a few of my friends and we all enjoyed the beautiful weather outside on campus. We all hung out for the rest of the evening, it was the perfect end to school. The weekend after I helped out backstage with all my best friends at the CCAD Fashion Show. I felt like a parent getting all emotional from seeing how much my friends have grown. I found out that night that one of my photographs was chosen to be printed and framed and hung up in the Photo Department hallway for the next year. They choose 3 student photos every year! I also found out that was one my prints (shown above) was hung up really big in the student exhibition. I took my parents to see if after graduation and I was surprised to find out that I actually have 3 different large prints throughout the gallery! Graduation was beautiful and emotional and it happened so fast, I definitely didn’t cry as much as I thought I would. Since graduation I have tried to get into a healthy morning routine by getting up early every morning to workout. i’ve been applying to a ton of jobs including product photographers, jewelry apprenticeships, retouching, and assisting. I’m going to be staying in Columbus for a while unless I get offered something else. I’m hopefully going to be visiting a few places this summer that I’m thinking about moving to eventually and I have some super exciting photoshoots happening soon! Stay tuned!
Sarah: The past couple of weeks have been a crazy blur! As a fashion major I spent the last 4 years prepping for the senior fashion show so it’s hard to believe that it’s over already. The show was incredibly fun! I couldn’t think of a better way to end my college career than displaying my work in that way and being able to celebrate all of our accomplishments with my peers. I think the highlight of my time at CCAD was when I was chosen as the Easton Town Center Fashion Award recipient! I was able to rein in the tears during the fashion show, but I expected to cry throughout the entire graduation ceremony the next day. However, when I arrived at commencement on Saturday I was much more joyful than sad. Yes, I am incredibly sad to be leaving CCAD, which has been my home for the past four years, but I know that it isn’t really goodbye. The people of CCAD are what make it so special and the bonds that I’ve forged there will last forever. I’m planning to stay in Columbus until July when I will be moving to New York to pursue my dream of becoming a lingerie or textile designer. Wish me luck!
