I decided to use 5 different shades of pastel blues/greens as my base. From left to right it is: Wet n’ Wild in Bird Bath, Covergirl in Skylight, Essense in You Belong to Me, American Apparel in Office, and Covergirl in Mint Mojito. Then, I used a white polish with a dotting tool to create little white dasies and used an orangey yellow in the centers!
Emily here today reviewing one of my new favorite haircare products! Recently, my cousin recommend that I try the shampoo bars from lush. I know what you’re thinking: “shampoo BAR?!?” But I promise it is amazing! She explained to me how it works, it was perfect timing! I have been slowly transitioning to all natural haircare products and so I went to Lush to see what these are all about. After a couple of questions about my hair and routine the man working recommended this particular bar to me. It’s called “Squeaky Green” and it is made of rosemary, tea tree, and peppermint. And like all of Lush’s products it is made with all natural ingredients and isn’t tested on animals!
I usually only wash my hair about once or twice a week depending on if I wear it mostly down or up. My hair doesn’t typically get oily and it is super thick. I wanted something that would get all the hairspray, dry shampoo, and dirt out that builds up over the week. This bar is meant to intensely clean your hair but also relax your scalp. Since the main ingredients are rosemary and peppermint so the scent is very soothing.
The shampoo bar’s lasts for about 50-80 washes which is just as much as 3 medium sized bottles of shampoo! You just rub it all over your wet hair while you’re showering and it creates more of a foam rather than normal shampoo bubbles. Then work it in your hair with your hands, rinse, and voila! Clean hair and heart.
Today Emily is reviewing some of her favorite moisturizing nail care products! This winter she was introduced to L’Occitane products and they changed her life!
Winter always takes a toll on my nails. Dry cuticles are painful and so are constantly breaking nails. I highly suggest visiting a L’Occitane store near you and asking for a hand scrub. The person working should assist you with trying their amazing hand scrub, which not only gets the dry skin off your hands, but also totally moisturizes them. After the hand scrub you should
use their hand cream. It’s 20% shae butter and makes your hands feel so incredibly soft, but not oily at all. Finally, you brush on their cuticle oil, which I use almost every night before I go to bed to keep my cuticles from drying out. The travel sized tubes are reasonably priced and last a long time! The L’Occitane stores and packaging are also beautiful and it’s always a pleasant experience to visit their shops. I love the products and I suggest everyone try them out!
Here is Emily’s Manicure Monday for this week!
I spent today and last night in Hocking Hills, Ohio and I loved the way the color of my nails looked in the beautiful view from out cabin’s deck. I am wearing Grandiose by Formula X for Sephora which is a super shimery color that reflects both a deep magenta, a copper color, and cold depending on the lighting.
Hello! It’s Emily! Last weekend I took a trip with my family to Delaware for my Mimi’s 90th birthday party! Almost my entire family was present, there was about 45 of us I think! While we were there, we had to visit Ocean City, Maryland. I used to spend a lot of time there growing up since a lot of my family used to live in the area. We visited every summer and I hadn’t been back since I was 15!
So, we stopped there on our way to Delaware and went to an amazing restaurant on the water called Fager’s Island. I had a delicious burger and hard cider.
It was the first time I had ever been to Ocean City in the winter so it was really weird seeing snow on the half-closed board walk. On Saturday my cousins and I, along with my dad and uncle, went down again and went to Dumser’s for lunch and then went to the Boardwalk! We spent some time getting taffy and playing in the arcade because we didn’t want to spend a lot of time walking around. It was sunny and the water was beautiful but the scenery didn’t cover the fact that it was still in the 30’s outside.
It was so lovely being able to spend time with all my family again. There are so many of us so it isn’t often that we all get to be together. I also was able to hang out with my sister, Mary who’s 4 years older than me and lives in Texas so I don’t get to see her often.
She helped me take some photos of our outfits to share here!
Emily’s wearing: Sunglasses (Forever 21,) Light blue oversized button up (Forever 21,) Jeans (American Eagle,) Boots (Vince Camuto,) Fringe bag (The Limited.)
Mary’s a store manager at Altar’d State so most of her outfit is from there! But her bag is Marc Jacobs and her boots are Steve Madden.
I missed my family and Ocean City so much. It will probably be a very long time before I go back to the city but I can’t wait till the next time my whole family is in a room together again. I’ll be posting photos of my trip on our instagram for the next week! Follow us @badbeautybabes
